Welcome to Mindful Pediatric Gastroenterology! We are so glad that you are here. We believe that healing has an obvious physical component but also a deeper emotional one. Our goal is to reconnect the ways we heal.

We know that what we believe about ourselves impacts our ability to heal from chronic illnesses. Our bodies can make us sick but so can our minds. By combining traditional medicine with alternative therapies such as yoga, mindfulness and acupuncture, we help patients to understand that even in the midst of great chaos in their lives...they can find peace. Like the eye at the center of a tornado, even when the world around you is changing, you can be calm and peaceful.
We want children to be comfortable in our office. So we don't have a traditional waiting room. In fact, coming to our office is like coming into our home. Check out the gallery to see a glimpse of our sanctuary!
Mindfulness is the art of paying attention to our life on purpose. It is not based in any religion-it is a relationship between our heart, mind and body.
It is a way of looking at our life experiences without judgement. Instead, we learn to view life with self compassion. Eventually this way of looking at life translates into a way of being in life. We navigate the world with greater mental clarity and stability. We learn to find peace and composure even in the most stressful situations.
A mindful child starts with a mindful parent. So we encourage this practice for parents and children. Mindfulness can be taught to children through integrating simple practices such as listening to our breath, mindful walking exercises, practicing daily gratitude and eating with awareness .
Showing a child how to handle the thoughts that are associated with an illness can help them to manage the stress or fear that accompany it.
Our hope is that every child learns the tools to surf the waves of their lives.
Gastroenterologists treat conditions such as constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease.
Common symptoms requiring a visit with a gastroenterologist are chronic vomiting, chronic diarrhea, unexplained weight loss, jaundice, blood in stool and chronic abdominal pain.
Common procedures that we do are upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, percutaneous gastrostomy tube placements, pH probe testing and hydrogen breath testing.
Yes. The procedures are done in an ambulatory surgical setting or a hospital setting depending on your child's medical issues and age. Dr. Bultron will discuss this in detail with you at your appointment.
Please call us about the insurances that we accept. We also accept cash paying patients-please call us for payment plan options. Depending on your insurance, a referral from your child's primary care doctor may be required.
No this is not a requirement. Also, mindfulness is not affiliated with any religion. It is a state of mind. We encourage it to help with healing.
